Below are three events that took place, each from a particular year, but can you remember which one from the clues?  As usual I suggest 2 points for remembering the correct year and 1 point if you're only one year out.

The first recognised cases of AIDS were identified in Los Angeles.

Two Unlimited spent 5 weeks at No1 in the UK charts with ‘No Limit’.

The space shuttle Endeavour was launched to fix an optical flaw on the Hubble Space Telescope

Manchester United were the first winners of the Premier League.

The summer olympics are held in Seoul, South Korea

George H W Bush defeated Michael Dukakis in the US Presidential election contest.

PanAm Flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie, killing 270 passengers and crew.

Rhodesia declared itself a republic when it severed its ties to the United Kingdom.

Following a change to the voting age, 18,19 and 20 year olds were allowed to vote for the first time in a by-election.

Dana won the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘All Kinds of Everything’.

Liverpool, who at the time were managed by Joe Fagan, won their 15th League title.

Frankie Goes to Hollywood spent the most weeks (9) at No1 with ‘Two Tribes’

In the Winter Olympics,Torvill and Dean were awarded perfect scores for artistic impression in the free dance segment, danced to Ravel’s ‘Bolero’

Bill Clinton announced his running-mate for that year's US Presidential Election, as Al Gore.

Absolutely Fabulous made its debut on TV.

Whitney Houston spent 10 weeks at number 1 in the UK charts with ‘I Will Always Love You’.
